Who Invented the Light Bulb?

Yeah u read it correctly. Most often people think that Thomas Edison invented the light bulb, but he didn't! 

Humphry Davy

In the early 18th century, Humphry Davy invented the first version of light bulb. which was the Electric Arc Lamp. He used electricity, wires and a battery to heat two rods of charcoal- on getting hot, electricity passed through the rods and they began to glow. This invention was not practical for various reasons.

Joseph Swan

British inventer Joseph Wilson Swan experimented with light bulbs from the year 1850.On December 18,1878 he demonstrated a light bulb which caught the attention of the whole world including Thomas Edison. He was awarded a patent only in the year 1880, when his house became the first house to be lit by a light bulb.

Thomas Edison

Thomas Edison  can be credited as the inventor of first incandescent (emitting light as a result of heat) light bulb that was practical. In today's word, bulbs are used for various purposes ranging from domicile to manufacturing requirements.
